What is the Humboldt River Basin Water Authority?
The Humboldt River Basin Water Authority is a separate legal entity established by Humboldt, Lander, Eureka, Elko and Pershing Counties pursuant to Nevada Revised Statutes 277.080 and 277.170 inclusive of Nevada’s lnterlocal Cooperation Act. The Member Counties desire to ensure that a long-term supply of reasonably priced water is available to support future agricultural. municipal recreational and industrial uses within the Humboldt River Basin and share an interest in the protection and enhancement of existing decreed and certificated water rights dependent upon surface and ground waters originating within the entire watershed serving the Humboldt River Basin.
