The State Engineer issued a Notice of Hearing and Proposed Interim Order Establishing Procedures for Review of Applications to Appropriate Groundwater in the Humboldt River Region with regard to the Potential Capture of and Conflict with Decreed Rights to the Waters of the Humboldt River and Tributaries Pursuant to the October 20, 2020 Settlement Agreement between the Pershing County Water Conservation District and the State Engineer in Case No. CV15-21019. State Engineer withdraws proposed regulations related Licensed Water Rights Surveyors
The State Engineer has elected to withdraw proposed regulations related Licensed Water Rights Surveyors (R170-20). The regulations were issued in response to the high volume of errors and returns for correction to water rights maps submitted to the Division. The Division will work with the State Licensed Water Rights Surveyors community to conduct training and to determine if regulations will be needed in the future. Draft EIS for the proposed Relief Canyon Gold Mine Expansion is available for review and comment
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Winnemucca District, Humboldt River Field Office has prepared a draft EIS (DEIS) to analyze a proposed expansion project of the Relief Canyon Gold Mine located at Packard Flat in Pershing County. BLM will announce two public scoping meetings which will be held on Zoom. Comments must be submitted by March 5, 2021.

Public Workshop on Humboldt River Modeling Efforts to be held Feb. 4th
The Division of Water Resources will hold a Public Workshop to provide an update on Humboldt River water modeling studies being conducted by the U.S. Geological Survey and the Desert Research Institute in the Humboldt River Basin.
